Principal's Message
Yarra Road Primary School is excited and proud to mark its 90th anniversary in 2015. Since 1925 the school has been a place where the community works together to support all children in their learning and social development.The school has seen many physical changes over this time, expanding from the fifteen students that began in 1925 to our current enrolment of 360 pupils. Throughout the years we have watched with pride as our students excel in many fields and we welcome them back to visit the school and share their achievements and stories.
We are aiming to gather Memories of School Days and publish them both digitally and in hard copy. The history we capture will be used during our 90th celebrations on 9th and 10th of December 2015 and archived to be used at the time of our centenary in 2025.
If you are a past student or family of Yarra Road Primary School and have a story about your school days, we would love to hear it. Please contact the office (phone 9723 4182 or email yarra.road.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au ) with your contact details and we will be in touch to organise a time to either speak to you on the phone or have one of our student leaders interview you. We are also looking for photos and memorabilia that can be photographed, copied or scanned and added to our history records.

Make your mark at the 90th anniversary of Yarra Road Primary School. Here are two opportunities for YRPS families or individuals, past and present, to be included in the creation of permanent features that will mark the school’s 90th anniversary. Two installations will become long-lasting features of our school; an Honour Wall and the “90th Apple Orchard”.The 90th Anniversary Honour Wall will be at the entrance to the administration building.
